USB Data Cable for LG 500g Cell Phone not working?

I purchased two USB Data Cables for my LG 500g cell phone, however neither works. Charged battery, phone did not come with 4g micro San Disk card, but installed 4GB micro San Disk as recommended. Tried to upload photo from phone to Mac Desktop, and laptop using USB Data Cables for my LG 500g cell phone. Nothing happens, at times it looks like connection cable is charging LG 500 phone? My digital Nikon uploads photos right away. I teach Digital Photography, all of my students can upload photos from cell phones, using other cables. Can anyone help?

My cable worked fine the first couple of months but lately it has become very picky about its positioning and will frequently disconnect both recharging and data. I very seldom have troubles with cables. I would have rated this as 2 but gave it a 3 rating for the low price.

phone is fine but i thought when i bought the phone i would be able to download apps. your ad on hsn said app.complient. does not happen for me.maybe that i am not proficient enough to figure how to download apps.but i gave phone to my grandaughter who is a wiz.she could not figure out how to download.then i read an artical.in your reviews that they were sorry for the add. on hsn about being app ready

These are a little short, but an extension from the dollar store fixes that. I like that they‘re interchangable on chargers, fm transmitter, etc. I‘ve had 1 that keeps disconnecting, but for the price, still good overall.

This cable only services to charge my phone, not as a means to download music to my S D card which I also bought at the same time.
Cons:
This cable only works to charge the phone, will not download music as was advertised. It or the S D Card worked as were advertised.
