Charged the unit by solar for a day and tried to charge my iPhone 4S, which showed it wasn't charging at all. So I used the AC adapter to charge the unit and tried to charge my phone. Again, nothing. I was just ready to send it back as a piece of junk when I decided to use my own USB-to-iPhone charge cord and -- voila!! -- it worked!
Moral of the story for me: don't trust the included adapters.
CHARGING: I haven't yet confirmed how much the unit has been charged by solar vs AC, after attaching my iPhone cable, I can vouch for the unit's ability to charge the iPhone, which started at 58% charge and took 53 minutes to charge the remaining 42% -- it started out charging about 1% per minute, then slowed. Next time I'll check its ability to charge when the phone is mostly drained.

Nice set of connector tips, but the iPhone adapter was cheap & didn't work, so you have to use your own cable
Manual is standard "cheap Chinese" -- obviously not written or proofed by a native English speaker

Worked great for a single 50% charge!

This thing looked so awesome when I took it out of the box. As soon as a glimmer of light shined on the solar panel surface the LED lit indicating that it was charging. I was impressed. Finally after having the unit for about a month, my phone was showing it was down to a 50% charge so I decided to try out the solar charger. It seemed to work great and took the phone to 100% charge in a short period of time. Now starts the trouble, it is now dead. The LED will not come on, it will not show it is charging my phone....nothing. When I purchased this unit, I had no idea it was a one time use only item!
Pros:
Appears to have been built with quality in mind.
Cons:
Works one time then it is finished. That works out to a very expensive charge.

Defective Product

I purchased this before Christmas and when it finally arrived I found it did not work. I contacted Customer Service and sent it back for replacement. I didn't receive it until late in January and tried it and it seemed like it was working. The LED lit up and it actually started to charge my phone. Then the LED went out and it will no longer charge my phone. This time I am requesting a refund. Also I will be out about $16.00 to ship back two units that do not work. Not worth the trouble. Last time I will be purchasing from them.

This was a gift, but I checked it out prior to passing it along. It's small, which I like. Soon as it was removed from the box it started charging from the light through the window. Appears like it will work just fine. Lots of connections for lots of things as well. If it works as well as it appears.. this will be a good buy. The ONLY thing bad is it took forever to get it. It ships from the far east haha. Seriously, they should have mentioned that, and it had no tracking number.

AMAZINGLY GOOD CHARGER

I was very cautious about buying this item.
IT took about 3 weeks to come after ordering it.
The first night I charged it. There was a strange green light that was flashing constantly until I plugged the charger in and started charging it.
The day after I plugged it into my samsung galaxy smartphone. WOW!
It charged it fully something no other solar charger has done so far.
I am very pleased with this charger.
The only problem I had was with the directions. They are not very clear at all.
I had to call the company to find out that after you charge your phone you need to plug in this solar charger for 2 hours perhaps a lilttle more to get the full charge out of it. After that the phone charged up again.
So I am very pleased and you will be to.

I got this to charge my phone while I worked a craft fair and it was PERFECT. Every one working the booth was able to use it thanks to the different adapters.

I purchased this solar charger to take on a cruze so we could keep our phones charged while on the deck getting sun. It work better than ever, we were able to pass it around between 4 phones to charge them all.

I got this and tried it out on a recent trip. It works pretty well, although I don't think it will charge to full capacity on solar, it will charge a phone enough to be able to make calls. It would certainly come in handy in an emergency or a long power outage! I keep iit in my car.

Had it for a month now. Works like a champ, so far. Take a couple of minutes at first to warm up but then charged my phone on the go.

That it has a plug for Nokia N8 and where I work those people I know I let them look at it .They told me that is a very good Solar Powered Backup Battery And Charger that is very cheap.

This is a great item to have when you you are away from a power source to charge yiour phone or other items. This is what kept my cell phone working on some recent fishing trips without keeping the phone turned off except when I wanted to make a call. I can leave it turned on which allows me to receive calls from home too. It also allowed me to use the phone to keeping touch with news, weather and other information from the web. I didn't run out of power to use the camera functions on the phone either.

The solar and 120V charging functions work well. Charging from the internal battery works, but is slow. The quality of the assembly is not great, but I think it was worth the price that I paid.

A nice assortment of plugs is included, which make this charger versatile.
Cons:
The quality of the adapter plugs is not high, and the although the mini-USB plug works with my htc phone, it is not a good fit.

If you spend a lot of time outdoors, this is a good purchase. Keep in mind that you can't leave your phone in the sun. It also works under indoor lighting as well.

This was my second unit. The first one didn't work at all. It was returned for replacement. The replacement unit worked as a solar charger one time. Then refused to function after that. The internal battery would not charge with wall charger or solar panel. Costs too much to return a second time since Cellphone Shop will not pay for return shipping even on DOA products.

Its a good product as long as you understand how to use it. The instructions could be a little better. I had mine about a week until I figured out how to charge the charger and use it to charge my pHone.

I haven't used it much, but it does it's job and has given no problems. I wish it would charge a bit faster, but it is solar, after all. CP Shop is always fast, competitively priced, and accurate.
