So simple. I plugged it in, put my DSLR SD card into the card reader. Switched from USB to Card and my iPad 2 became my quick review of my photo-shoot. I was able to import and share pics online faster than ever before. I'll still need my laptop to edit and process RAW pics. Being able to share instantly with clients is the best feeling ever. What a relief from the pressure of trying to get pics processed for clients to see once we part way. It works on again, off again, but it works, and does allow me to transfer photo's to my ipad direct from camera, so it does the job and only cost $5.99. If is cost $29.99, I would not be a happy camper

When I first plugged it in to my iPad3, I got a message that it was not compatible. However, I started working on something else and after about 30 seconds or so it connected and I was able to transfer my photos easily from my SD card.

Now this is a product that has outdone the Apple original camera connection kit. Instead of having two adpaters (one for USB and one for memory cards) this device builds them into one single device. The 30-pin connector has a little bit of a neck so if you iPad has a case on it, it will reach through the case's hole area without having to remove the case. The switch on the side allows you to easily toggle between the memory card slot and the USB port.
Pros:
I like that it's an all-in-one device.
Cons:
There seemed to be a slight lag before the photos load, but transfer time was just about the same as it was on Apple's Camera Connection Kit.

Ipad 3. Plug it in, nothing happens. Contacted seller, took a few days to respond with "tell me how it doesn't work". I answered...still waiting on a postage paid sticker so i can send it back.

Bought it to try to connect a USB headset. Was not designed for that, may not have worked, but ...
Turns out it works just fine! iPad tells me a few times it isn't qualified but does not interfere. Sound is great.

I will not be able to rate. When I made this purchase it did not work. Contacted Cellphoneshope and they replaced for a different one, which it did not work. I gave up on Cellphoneshop!

I have shopped with cell phone shop several times but this time I bought a LEMON. The camera connection kit and card reader for the NEW IPAD does not work on it. I had to almost force it it and was hoping it would not mess up my ipad. After I got it into the Ipad the Ipad told me that "this accessory was not supported by IPAD".
Cons:
It does not work with my IPAD as it said it would. IPAd doesnt recognize it. I clicked on 1 star only because there was no option to go below that.

This item does not allow one to transfer photos from an SD card to the iPad (either 1 or 3). Just a message "iPad does not support this accessory" or "draws to much power..."

It was a great thought...

I took this on vacation and used it to transfer photos from camera to ipad. Works like a charm, and for a lot less than the apple equivalent. The only thing I had to remember was to use the tiny switch to go from SD to USB! Pictures load very fast. (I have the new Ipad). I love that it's very small and portable, just be careful not to lose it!
If you do, buying another one is easy and CHEAP!

Great for downloading pics from camera cared. It will not take a flash drive directly is my only objection. However, I would not be without one.

Place several memory cards into the the device and it did not have the capability to transfer the saved photographs to my iPad.

The camera connection kit did not fit the iPad and was a total waste of money - so I went and purchased an Apple camera connection kit and it works like it should. I would never purchase a copy of any original equipment and have recommended to others not to purchase these products as they are just cheap and rubbish.
