It keeps the cord from tangling in pocket, backpack or purse. Can use while using earphones, it keeps the extra cord from catching on anything. It’s kind of funky looking but nice to have.

My kids often get frustrated trying to untangle their
earphone cords and I can't blame them because it isn't easy to keep
them from getting tangled even though they store them in a pouch.
This helps to keep the earphones neat, organized and tangle free,
and easy to put into and take out of their little earphone bags.
It's also easy enough for the kids to wrap and unwrap
themselves.
